In 1995 KS AUDIO introduced the T 4, the world's first PA loudspeaker with FIRTEC™ DSP. Over the years, improvements have been made to the loudspeakers and the system's processing.

Initially the T 4 was offered with its own specific amplifier, the T 4 wave. With the arrival of the digital KS FIRMOD cards for use in KS system amplifier, the T 4 is controlled by two channels (Bi-amp) of a KS AUDIO system amplifier with F MOD controller card.

Thanks to these continuous developments, the T4 always was the world standard in compact 2-way systems. In 2005, with the advent of modern switched-mode power supplies, KS AUDIO created the active version of the T 4, the CPD 15.

In 2021, we were very proud to present to you the CPD 22, a further development of the CPD 15 but now with a brand new designed 2" throat HDSP™ waveguide.
The HDSP™ waveguide can already be found as a 1.4" throat in the KS AUDIO CPD 10 and CPD 12 and with a 1” throat in de CPD 1 where this technique is very successful and is very well received by its users.

The KS AUDIO CPD 22 is the compact, high power and low distortion 2-way system with the best audio performance, phase linearity and sound pressure on the market. The FIR filtered 2" throat driver is unsurpassed in sound neutrality and low distortion, yet also extremely powerful.

With 2000W peak power, the CPD 22 always has enough power reserve to amplify the most dynamic music and that also for a larger audience.
Both the bass loudspeaker and the driver for the MH frequencies contain powerful 4" voice coils and are particularly robust. The 4” Driver diaphragm is made of aluminium.

By using KS AUDIO own developed HDSP™ waveguide there are two significant differences in comparison to the T 4: firstly, the horizontal dispersion angle varies depending on the vertical angle, and secondly, the major part of the sound energy is tilt downward in a varies curved wavefront towards the audience, and not towards the walls or the ceiling.

Several acoustic principles were combined in order to achieve this. The energy of the high-frequency driver is formed in a waveguide with varying path lengths to a vertically curved line, which is then radiated into a horn with a width of 120° in the lower part and 60° in the upper part.

In the transition to the low-mid frequency membrane, the sound signal is electronically delayed and phase corrected in such a way that the main inclined dispersion axis is sustained over a wide frequency range. Likewise, the crossover frequency is selected in a way that the bundling resulting from the diameter of the membrane is equivalent to that of the mid-high frequency horn.

The rear mounted, separately housed, 2-way PWM + MOSFET Controller /amplifier operates without the need of a cooling fan thus avoiding the typical fan noise found in most amplifiers.
The electronically balanced analog in/out and AES/EBU section is equipped with XLR F+M connectors. The unit is controlled via digital rotary knob, menu configuration shown on LCD graphic display. All adjusted levels, filters, and delay-settings are permanently saved.

Once more KS AUDIO presents an improvement: Audio Over Ethernet direct from your console or PC into the active loudspeaker via DANTE option! Furthermore, every Loudspeaker can be addressed to an adjustable IP address, and over the same network all functions of the system can be monitored and controlled via KS AUDIO REMOTE software.

For the lower octave you can choose to use the CPD 22 in combination with one or two 2x 15" KS CPD W2 or KS CPD WH subwoofers, creating an unparalleled compact PA system.

Words can hardly describe how outstanding the performance of the KS AUDIO CPD 22 is. Anyone who wants to know how good and loud a compact 12" loudspeaker can sound must have heard the CPD 22.
