T 4

In 1995 KS AUDIO introduced the, the world’s first PA loud- speaker with FIRTEC™ DSP. Over the years, improvements have been made to the loudspeakers and the system’s processing.

Initially the T 4 was offered with its own specific amplifier, the T 4 wave. With the arrival of the digital KS FIRMOD cards
for use in KS system amplifier, the T 4 is controlled by two channels (Bi-amp) of a KS AUDIO system amplifier with F MOD controller card.

Thanks to these continuous developments, the T 4 always is the world standard in compact 2-way systems.

The KS AUDIO T 4 is the 2-way active system with the best performance in linearity and sound pressure level.

It maintains a high level of power even in the bass range, and the 2” driver with 4” voice coil is unsurpassed in sound neutrality and low distortion. With the heavy-duty voice coils, the 12” chassis has a continuous output of 1000W and the 2” driver 140W - peak power can be more than 2kW.

With KS AUDIO’s own developed FIR filters, the T 4 was the system that started the success of their FIRTEC™ system. With these filters filters are created in the digital domain so there is no deterioration of the impulse response. These filters also give the T 4 its superior sound.

The design and dispersion of the horn is very even over the full frequency spectrum. The electronic adjustment of the HF wavefront to the bass-midrange speaker results in a vertical curvature of the entire wavefront, which is also continued

in the crossover frequency range and does not show any dips there. With the usual positioning of the loudspeaker the listener in the near field is provided with as good a sound as those at a greater distance.

Both the 12′′ Long dispersion woofer and the 2′′ compression driver have strong but light Neodymium-Magnets. The 4′′ membrane of the compression driver consists of a special material that has a clearly reduced distortion factor in comparison to a titanium membrane. With the T 4,

KS AUDIO has responded to the demanding needs of the professional user with a modular 2-way sound system with the highest audio quality, yet in a compact size.

There are many applications in which the T 4 can be used: Theatre, Live-stage Music, in large rooms or tents, as a delay system for far field, or as a compact top in combination with any KS subwoofer, we recommend the C W2 sub.

As standard, the T 4 is supplied with a 90° x 40° dispersion, but on request it can also be supplied with a 60° x 40° dispersion, in which case, of course, other presets for the FIRTEC™ DSP are included.

Maximum sound pressure is achieved when the T 4 is driven by a TA 4D - with F MOD or D MOD DSP card - operating in bi-amp mode. The 4-channel amplifier becomes a 2-channel bi-amplifier with 1000Wrms at 4 ohms in the bass range. Up to six T 4s can be connected to a TA 4D in two channels.

More cost-effective is a CA 4D - with F MOD or D MOD DSP card - which is operated in bi-amp mode.
The output in the bass range is then 700 Wrms into 4 ohms and in the treble range 350 Wrms into 4 ohms. It is recom- mended to connect a maximum of two T 4 on a single CA 4D.

The speaker cabinet construction is, like all KS AUDIO systems, built from birch ply-wood with PU coating.
All RAL colors available. 2 different horizontal dispersion patterns (90×40 or 60×40) are available. Another special feature are the two Aeroquip fittings on the speaker. Allowing the installation of different fly-ware and connectors, which are safely interlocked. There is a pole mount in the bottom of the cabinet and a protective steel grill on the front, with or without acoustic foam, and handles on the top and sides are further features of this premium product.
